Senate Orders Tough Action Against Terrorists Using Social Media to Display Criminal Proceeds

The Nigerian Senate has directed security agencies to strengthen surveillance and crack down on bandits and terrorists who openly flaunt their criminal activities and illicit proceeds on social media platforms, particularly TikTok, amid increasing concerns over the online presence of armed groups.
The resolution was adopted during Thursday's plenary following a motion sponsored by Senator Sunday Karimi (Kogi West) on the rising cases of bandit attacks and terrorist incursions in Kogi West and other parts of the country.
